We started the day with a drive to Keystone. Once we plugged in the car at the Ramada Inn sign, we walked around. Our purpose was to ride an old train, the 1880 train. But that wasn't the real train that took us to Hill City. 1880 is too old and is retired in Hill City depot.
Then we rode the back to Keystone.
Note we did ask at the hotel mgr if we could plug into
their sign (that's where the 240 outlet (like a clothes dryer outlet) was at). The hotel mgr wasn’t sure so we
agreed on $5 to charge. Tom has an app on his phone which helps us locate power outlets and chargers. So we
posted more info about that plug.
After Keystone we were off to Custer State Park. What a lovely park. We stayed in the park last time we did our Parks of the West vacation (2007). The movie at the visitor center is narrated by Kevin Costner. I guess because he filmed Dances with Wolves here.
After Custer we went to Crazy Horse Memorial. Our first visit, in 2007, it was not well known & had little info about it. This time lots of Hwy signs and very busy. We took a tour to the top again. And we got free rocks with our tour. Look for those in our yard.
It was not a great day for eating. The tiny towns had
yucky sandwiches so it was snacks & a dry sandwich at Crazy Horse.
A fun but long day.
