Thurs, Jun 11 Berlin

We wanted to visit Schloss Charlottenburg (Castle) so we jumped on the subway but decided to start with the Olympiastadion (I bet you know what this is)

The Olympic Stadium, built for the 1936 Olympics for the nazi's to show their might. HA, can you say Jesse Owen! We were not able to tour the stadium but it was cool to see it. This area of Berlin had little damage from the war, so the stadium shows few scars of the war. It is still currently used European football (soccer).
FYI Jesse Owen Allee, a street, runs near this stadium.

Charlottenburg Castle, one of the few castle remaining in Berlin.

Look familar? I think this is where they filmed part of The Sound of Music. I didn't realize this until looking at this pic later, otherwise you know I would not be so lamely posed for this pic (that's me in the orange jacket).

Schloss Charlottenburg

Schloss Charlottenburg from the end of the grounds.

The Sony Center in Potsdamer Platz, a new neighborhood stands where the Wall once stood.

Look up. It's open air but still chilly when it's chilly out, but not as windy! We had dinner here in a restaurant that had a outdoor seating - including heaters & blankets. I loved it! Of course I used both.

We also visited the Topography of Terror, which has info on the SS, Gestapo etc
