Happy Veteran's Day from Rapid City, SD
We past these hotels yesterday afternoon on Granite Pass (9,033 ft) on our way to Rapid City. It was bare and dry with little snow in the fields.
Again, we were lucky!!!!
It was kind of nasty weather today. Windy, rainy and cool. It just doesn't feel like the 1st weekend of summer.
Luckily the weather did not prevent us from doing our stuff. We visited the SD Air & Space Museum just outside Ellsworth AF Base. We liked the planes outside better than the inside stuff. Below is the B-1 bomber out front of the museum.
Then we went to the Museum of Geology on the campus of SD School of Mines & Technology. They had dinosaurs, fossils and rocks.
Then Bear Country USA. A wildlife park. It was okay, the best part was the 3 bear cubs.
Then it really started raining and blowing. Glad to be in the room with a cup of tea.
