Wed, May 14, Takayama to Kyoto, Japan

I don’t know what happened but I cannot get the 12th & 13th in the correct order.

We started with a walk through Takayama.  We visited Takayama Jinya,  a government building (from 1692 to 1868).  It is now a National Historic Site, the only building of its kind in Japan.  Notice the construction of the building, it's pretty amazing.  And really only one fireplace with an area that the smoke would rise.

We visited the Miyagawa morning market and walked around the town.

On our own we visited the Kusakabe Heritage House, it was confusing but I did like the old time wedding gown.

For lunch I had some beef sushi, it was tender with a yummy wasabi sauce, otherwise I wouldn't have eaten

We boarded the bus and went to train station.  It was then 2 trains to Kyoto.

For dinner the 5 of us went to an Italian restaurant.  My dinner warranted a picture because I ordered risotto, which was finished at the table by mixing it in a quarter wedge of Parmesan Reggiano cheese!  It was very good.
